I have a very interesting epoch car for magpie fanciers.
The car is a Citroen model 11-B loom 157789, put in way in France in 1948, with shingle 219BT71. Here are technical data :
In 20.05.81, for declaration of
Joncy police brigade commander authorizing car's transfer to
Italy, exactily Siracuse , the owner, madame Christine Marie
Helene, allowed Citroen's concessionaire the use of car for
exposition in a epoch car gathering.
After gathering the car was
entrust to me with special and, at one time, general
commission. My job was to safeguard and restore it and then sell
it because the owner didn't like to bring back the car in France.
After ten years works of patient restore are over, the car stays in a garage in Siracuse.
Every two years I drive it for about two miles to avoid problems in mechanicals parts.
The painting and the internal parts has been remade, and the car has been retired by original true-size Michelin tarpaulins. The whole mechanics has been reviewed.
Car is in optimal conditions, as
you can see from pictures in
this site.
FOR COLLECTORS
The whole output Citroen 11B Legere (shorter of 35 cm) was composed of 650.000 exemplars.
It's possible to see examplars in France, Netherland, Belgian, famous also for trunked back hood.
Model 11B is recognizable for supply wheel on hatch of back hood. Before war, 18500 exemplars was made.
After war only few exemplar was
produced and this car, registered in 1948, this car was one of
few exemplars because production went to model 11B Legere in
order to economize materials).
After patient searchs of similar cars I knew there are in Sicily about 10 model Citroen 11B Legere but nothing of 11B.
Maybe there is any exemplar in Italy but France collectors said me Citroen 11B is rare like 15CV (a beautiful six cilynders car).
After 15 years I decided,
according to owner, to sell the car.
